Queen opening Fifth Welsh Assembly

The Queen visited the Senedd in Cardiff yesterday, 7 June, to open the Fifth Welsh Assembly.

I took my trusty OM-2N along and to take some photos. I usually find at this kind of event the people watching make the most interesting subjects, rather than the actual event itself.

21 gun salute for the Queen - actually 3 guns firing 7 times each

Interesting read. Close to the Senedd is a sculpture installation commemorating Welsh soldiers who died at the Somme. So this seemed quite appropriate.

All photos taken on Ilford XP2 and developed in Rodinal 1:100.
